Kitchen and Dining Remodel: Spruce

November 2, 2009
We are remodeling the kitchen and the dining room to make more efficient use of the floor space.
The left wall between the two spaces will be moved,
creating a larger kitchen and more cozy dining room
The existing kitchen is cramped, without space for the entire family.
The new kitchen will be more roomy, with a southwestern style.
November 13, 2009
The kitchen wall is being demoed, with the ceiling to follow shortly.
With the ceiling out of the way, Anne and Stephen work to reinforce the existing roof.
November 20, 2009
Openings for the new windows are being cut out.
Windows are being shimmed into place and secured.
November 30, 2009
The new windows will greatly increase the daylight in the kitchen.
The wall between the kitchen and dining room has been framed.

The drywall is being installed in the kitchen.
The high ceiling in the space required a special approach.

The kitchen walls have all been painted.
And now cabinets are being installed.
January 15, 2010
The tile floor is being put down in a random
pattern to give it that handcrafted look.
The tile floor has been covered up as the
installers put in the quartz countertop.
