The existing second floor is to be remodeled
and a dormer added.
This rendering shows the new
dormer, where a new second
bedroom will be located.

May 11, 2009
Prior to starting demolition, dust walls
are constructed to protect the first floor
while allowing access to the second floor.
Second floor bedroom and hallway
are stripped back to the wood studs.
The closets are removed.
Trash chute from the 2nd floor,
industrial vacuum to remove
old blown-in insulation.

A new structural beam has been
installed to hold up the new roof.

June 8, 2009
The new dormer has been
closed in, and the roof
has been shingled.
Inside, the interior walls have
been framed in preparation
for insulation and drywall.
June 15, 2009
Entire roof & attic area retrofitted with
open cell icynene foam insulation. Our
clients will love their lower utility bills.
The hallway has been fully
drywalled. A new opening has
been created down to the stairs.

we expected one of the
bedrooms would look like.
This is the same view, with how
the space actually turned out.
Here is the second bedroom. The
closet and niche were carefully
shoehorned around the structure.
The bright and cheery colors are
perfect for these two kids’ rooms!

attic access opening. Angled to
match the roof slope off the attic.
July 18, 2009 – Complete
Our happy home-owners,
excited to move into
their new spaces.

furnished for the
clients’ two boys.

the bedrooms to the stairs down.
Outside, the new dormer was
detailed to compliment
the existing home.
