New drywall has been hung and is being taped. This
view is in the master closet looking into the master bath.

A new high window has been installed to keep daylight
and privacy in the bathroom. The green colored drywall is a
moisture resistant board that we use in bathroom areas.

Project complete! Our clients have happily moved back into
their kitchen and dining room and the rest of the first floor.

The spaces are open to each other but clearly defined. The
removal of two bearing walls clearly made a huge difference.
The new materials and colors have a fresh and clean
traditional feel, enhancing this classic home.

The wood frame is a block-out for a basement egress
window. The step-down at the top of the wall
is a ledge for the exterior brick to bear on.

Now the waterproofing membrane is
seen on the outside of the foundation walls.

Nine foot tall basement walls are planned.

Foundation walls are all set. The perimeter drain tile is
set at the outside of the footing, to drain away any
water that collects on the basement walls

The subfloor was removed to do this to prevent any
disruption to the finished space below.

Plenty of new electrical wires are being run for new outlets
and switches. Romex cables are used for our new wires:
white coverings is for 14 gauge wires and yellow is
for 12 gauge. Copper piping is visible lower on the wall
– new water supply lines for the sinks.

Concrete footings have been poured. Insulating blankets have been
removed with the temperatures hitting 50 degrees yesterday and
today. Formwork for the basement walls are ready to be unloaded.

Plastic dust walls separate our work from the rest of the second floor.

The old walls are gone and the new walls are framed.

The kitchen backsplash: white ceramic tiles with stainless
steel tiles behind the Viking cooktop. Blue accent tiles
enhance the blue coloring of the granite.

Appliances are set, hardwood floor has received
its final coat of finish. Ready for final painting!

Demo has begun in the bedrooms. We’re removing the closets
separating them, clearing space for our new walls.

Demolition on a second floor can be tricky. Here, we built a
chute to easily get trash to trailer, reducing the need to carry
much through the existing finished spaces inside.

Cabinets are in place, allowing for countertop installation.

The countertop is blue pearl granite. The white cabinetry becomes
a backdrop for this rich color, as it sparkles in the sunlight.

Countertops were also installed at the new bar sink.
