We are renovating this kitchen, updating the finishes, the layout, and the appliances.

As the current ones are literally falling off the wall, we’ll
be installing brand new painted wooden cabinetry.

We’ll also be updating the laundry/mudroom, with a better layout and storage cubbies.

Finally, the office will receive a custom designed, built-in bookcase.

Demolition is progressing, with all of the kitchen cabinets having been removed.

These elevations show the new cabinet layout, adding more drawers for better storage.

Demolition is also continuing in the mudroom.

The new mudroom will have storage cubbies and better shelving.

Dust protection in the tall front entry, a small plastic box out with a zippered door.
This keeps dust in “our” side and keeps it out of “their” side.

The existing house was built with PEX plastic piping for all hot and cold water. Though this saved money initially, it is susceptible to pitting at the copper fittings, and several leaks developed in this home.

All new copper piping is being installed in the house. We needed to open up the drywall wherever there was old plastic piping and where new copper piping was to go.

Drywall paths along the ceiling and walls in the basement
were removed, and lots of dust protection was set up.

New copper is visible, feeding water around the house.

New drywall is being installed where needed, while the existing is inspected and repaired as necessary. The goal is to have a uniform finish throughout the new kitchen.

In the basement, we are doing local repairs to patch areas opened up for plumbing piping replacement.
Here, the idea is to have as minimal impact as possible.

The drywall in the main kitchen area is completed.
Next steps are refinishing the floor and painting the walls.

The kitchen floor has been refinished. We’ll take extra care to protect it during the rest of the project.

The kitchen is being painted. Areas without new paint will be covered by the cabinets,
the crown and the tile backsplash.

Brian has moved all the cabinets into the kitchen.

The first run of cabinets are in place and being leveled, adjusted and installed.

Mudroom cubbies are being installed. They will allow
more storage and easier access than original closet.

Cabinets are finished, ready for crown, countertop and backsplash.

New stainless steel hood with improved venting and lighting at the range.

The granite countertop is being installed.

Followed by the tile backsplash installation.
